Burberry Labradors was first registered with the Canine Association of Western Australia in August 1995.
We are situated in the picturesque hills location of Mount Helena, just 50 minutes from the C.B.D east of the city of Perth.
I first started out in Labradors in 1987 with a wonderful black male puppy Luhana Crown Jewel, who was purchased from the Davis’s. He was from one of Australia’s most influential sires, Aust Ch Driftway Statesman, from the world famous Driftway kennels owned by Mr Guy Spagnolo.
I was bitten by the bug entering conformation shows and retrieving trials. In 1988 I was invited onto the committee of one of Western Australia’s most prestigious clubs The Gundog Club of Western Australia of which later, I had the honour of being elected President.
In 1993 I married my wife, Myra Thomas of Amhurst Irish Setters (est. 1971). Myra who is an International Judge of note has had an overwhelming influence on our kennel; she has a fine eye for a dog and her input has been very influential on our lines. A significant part of our stock is the strong affect that the Driftway lines have had on our breeding. We have also imported dogs from overseas from the Attikonak Kennels in Sweden owned by Mrs Gunilla Ek.
We are a small kennel and our aim is to produce quality Labradors that have exemplary temperament, breed type and structural soundness. All of our breeding stock hold health clearances for hips and elbows, and certification for eyes is done annually.
